500 _aAuthor Vernon Elvin Johnson considers Baha'is in Exile a sequel to his doctoral dissertation. In this book, Johnson seeks to continue the history he briefly covered in the last chapter of his dissertation. Baha'is are followers of Baha'u'llah, the main founder of the Baha'i religion. The Baha'is mentioned in this book have been rejected, cast out, or exiled from the faith by the majority - or mainstream - body of Baha'is, creating what some consider divisions in the Baha'i faith. About the Author Vernon Elvin Johnson holds four degrees: B.S., Oklahoma Baptist University; two Master's degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, B.D./M.Div. and Th.M.; and a Ph.D. from Baylor University. He has served as a pastor of a mission in Texas and a church in Oklahoma and was a librarian and teacher in an aeronautical school in Tulsa. He is a Southern Baptist evangelical minister with an interest in the Baha'i faith. Johnson plays the guitar and sings and has performed in various churches.
