Монография является первым в мировой науке трудом по шейхизму, в котором на основе первичных источников дается целостная картина учения данной мистической школы шиизма, зародившейся и развивавшейся наиболее активно на Ближнем и Среднем Востоке в конце XVIII — первой половине XIX в. В книгу включены биографии основоположников шейхизма, вопросы их острой полемики с оппонентами, исследуются краеугольные принципы учения, особенно его «четыре столпа», вводятся в научный оборот важные труды теоретиков школы, части которых представлены в переводах Ю. А. Иоаннесяна. К тексту прилагается обширный блок фотографий страниц ценнейших рукописей из коллекции ИВР РАН.

The
monograph is the first work on Sheikhism in the world of science, in which, on the basis of primary
sources, a complete picture of the teachings of this mystical school of Shiism, which originated and
developed most actively in the Near and Middle East at the end of the 18th — first half of the 19th
century The book includes biographies of the founders of sheikhism, questions of their sharp polemics
with opponents, explores the cornerstone principles of the doctrine, especially its “four pillars”,
introduces into scientific circulation important works of the theoreticians of the school, parts of which
are presented in the translations of Yu. A. Ioannesyan. The text is accompanied by an extensive block
of photographs of pages of the most valuable manuscripts from the IVR RAS collection
