Sir 'Abbás Effendi (better known as' Abdu'l-Bahá), born in Tehran in 1844 from a noble Persian family, was expelled from his native land in 1852 together with his father, founder of a reform movement strongly opposed in Persia. He lived for most of his life in the Holy Land, where in 1868 he was exiled by the Turkish Sultan together with his family, he dedicated his whole life to the practical and theoretical dissemination of the reform advocated by his father, traveling in Egypt, Europe, the United States and Canada and producing a mass of interesting writings still little known in the West. In his speeches and writings he challenged the prevailing assumptions and thinking of that period and tried to make everyone understand that humanity was about to enter a new era, full of challenges and difficulties, as it later became clear, but at the same time full of opportunities to find a profitable and desirable unity in thought and action. My name is 'Abdu'l-Bahá is developed in nine chapters and four appendices and briefly exposes his life and above all his works, illustrating his innovative vision of modernity,
