Kai Borrmann should be mentioned because he has also published in an academic medium. The German Borrmann was a Baha'i for some months in 1997-98. In 2005, he published a German translation of the Kitab Aqdas, the most important work of Baha'u'llah. The author has a poor grasp of Arabic, is unfamiliar with Baha'i terminology, and has consulted little of the relevant secondary literature, including the German translation of the Kitab Aqdas brought out by the German Baha'i community in 2000. The chapter titles are flippant and are intended to be derisive of the Baha'is – for example, 'Animal Farm' and 'Abracadabra'. One is therefore surprised to find that this book is the publication of a doctoral thesis gained from the University of Freiburg and is published in an academic series.
