In 1909 the Bahá'í Temple Unity, an Illinois corporation, was formed to undertake the construction of a Mashriqu'l-Adhkár in Chicago. An executive board was elected by the annual convention to run the day-to-day operations of the Bahá'í Temple Unity. After 1922, the Bahá'í Temple Unity's functions and temple property were gradually taken over by its successor, the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of the United States and Canada. The records consist of minutes, correspondence and financial records. The Archives has an unpublished inventory.
