<br/><br/> Abdel Karim Teherani (`Abdu'l-Karím Tihrání) was sent to the United States by `Abdu'l-Bahá to strengthen the believers after their former leader, Ibrahim Kheiralla, had sought to create a breach in the ranks of the Bahá'ís.  These essays were part of Teherani's effort to keep the Bahá'ís steadfast.
