Biographical sketches of bondservants in the households of the co-founders of the Bahá'í Faith: Haji Mubarak, Fiddih, Isfandiyar, Mas`ud and Salih Aqa. Moojan Momen's introduction discusses slavery in the Islamic context, inasmuch as these bondservants were engaged before the rvelation of the Bahá'í law abolishing slavery.
