The Key to Paradise
Diane, the heroine, is a French surgeon who goes to India after a horrific personal tragedy. There she discovers the Third World and decides to start a movement called Women Without Borders. Her platform emphasizes international solidarity among women to achieve peace and a new international economic order. As a Doctor Without Borders volunteer, she is involved in a humanitarian mssion in the Middle East, charged with resettling Iranian boy-soldiers taken prisoner during the Iran-Iraq War. In Tehran, Diane is taken hostage by revolutionary militia. There she discovers the contrast between the Bahá'í Faith's principles and the abusive interpretations of Islamic fanatics.
