Il Mistero di Dio: Concedo 1913-1921

In una sorta di continuum, Il Mistero di Dio si apre dove La Luce dell’Occidente si chiude. In Egitto. Dove ‘Abdu’l-Bahá sbarca il 17 giugno 1913 per il suo ultimo soggiorno in quella terra. È l’inizio di un racconto, curato alla perfezione, degli ultimi anni del ministero del Servo della Gloria. Fino alla conclusione della Sua parabola terrena, il 28 novembre 1921, “in una autunnale notte palestinese, così remota dalla Sua terra natale, dai suoi odori, dalle sue strade, dai suoi fiori, dal suo deserto, dalle sue tradizioni, dalle sue vette nevose, dal fascinoso lamento dei suoi mille poeti dal cuor di zaffiro!”. Con la dolcezza di queste parole l’autore accompagna il ritorno dello spirito glorioso di ‘Abdu’l-Bahá al Padre. In mezzo a questi due eventi, lo sbarco a Port Said e l’Ascensione, oltre 200 pagine popolate di personaggi che hanno ruotato attorno alla luce sfolgorante e all’amore senza fine del Maestro. Fra tutti risplende la figura dell’amata consorte, Munírih Khanum, che in un attimo di tristezza viene confortata dal Maestro con l’invito a “riportare alla mente i favori ricevuti sì che le tenebre del dolore si mutino nella brillantezza della luna”. Il libro si sofferma sugli anni della prima guerra mondiale, sul primo riuscito esperimento di sviluppo rurale della comunità bahá’í di Adasiyyah, sui momenti che accompagnarono la rivelazione delle Tavole del Piano Divino, sui due intrepidi credenti di Teheran ai quali si deve la consegna della prima Tavola all’Aia. E sulla vicenda terrena di Curtis Kelsey e di Auguste Forel, tra i tanti compagni di viaggio degli anni del congedo.

Until the conclusion of His earthly parable, November 28, 1921, "on an autumnal Palestinian night, so remote from His native land, from its smells, from its streets, from its flowers, from its desert, from its traditions, from its peaks snowy, from the fascinating lament of its thousand sapphire-hearted poets!”. With the sweetness of these words the author accompanies the return of the glorious spirit of 'Abdu'l-Bahá to the Father. In the midst of these two events, the landing in Port Said and the Ascension, over 200 pages populated with characters who revolved around the dazzling light and endless love of the Master. Among all, the figure of his beloved wife, Munírih Khanum, shines, who in a moment of sadness is comforted by the Master with the invitation to "bring back to mind the favors received so that the darkness of pain is changed into the brilliance of the moon". The book focuses on the years of the First World War, on the first successful rural development experiment of the Bahá'í community of Adasiyyah, on the moments that accompanied the revelation of the Tablets of the Divine Plan, on the two intrepid believers of Tehran to whom we owe the delivery of the first Table in The Hague. And on the earthly affair of Curtis Kelsey and Auguste Forel, among the many travel companions of the years of leave.
