2021 marks the one-hundredth anniversary of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s passing. This compilation recounts the events of that time and provides perspectives for personal reflection and Holy Day observances.
Shortly after ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s ascension on November 28, 1921, Shoghi Effendi and Lady Blomfield, a prominent English Bahá’í, put together an account of those grief-filled events. This book begins with that compilation. In it, the Guardian not only narrated the story of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s last days, but has also provided a short gathering of the Master’s own words.
Also included in this edition are several eyewitness accounts of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s passing written by Western pilgrims who happened to be in the Holy Land at the time. The book gives a full text of the memorial service that was held on Mt. Carmel in ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s honor, as well as the first letter of the new Guardian to the Bahá’í World.
