Una raccolta di materiale perlopiù inedito, un dono speciale dell’Associazione per gli studi bahá’í “Alessandro Bausani” alla comunità italiana. Il Maestro e la parola consente di conoscere da un’altra angolatura ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, il Cui esempio di vita è attuale e d’ispirazione per tutti e il Cui linguaggio è universale e sonda aspetti dell’esistenza umana in un perfetto equilibrio tra spirito e materia. Il libro ha il merito di condurre il lettore alla scoperta della poetica del Maestro attraverso dieci Suoi componimenti e di farlo riflettere sul significato profondo da Lui attribuito alla poesia per il suo impatto sull’anima. Costruisce, inoltre, un ponte con la cultura millenaria orientale. Con mistici, poeti e pensatori che hanno costituito un orizzonte certo di riferimento per ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, la Cui produzione letteraria ne dimostra una tale padronanza da indurre lo stesso Bausani – tra i più autorevoli studiosi della civiltà iraniana – a definirLo “maestro indisputato della prosa persiana”. Il volume lascia respirare l’armonia delle parole del Maestro e accoglie il lettore con l’eleganza della Sua calligrafia. Si apre, infatti, con quattro Tavole scritte da ‘Abdu’l-Bahá prima della Sua scomparsa. Custodite nell’archivio dell’Assemblea Spirituale Nazionale dei bahá’í d’Italia, offrono uno spaccato del legame che univa il Maestro al nostro Paese e ai primi credenti, tratteggiati con interessanti cenni biografici. |

A collection of mostly unpublished material, a special gift from the Association for Bahá'í studies "Alessandro Bausani" to the Italian community. The Master and the word allows us to know from another angle 'Abdu'l-Bahá, Whose example of life is timely and inspiring for all and Whose language is universal and probes aspects of human existence in perfect balance between spirit and matter. The book has the merit of leading the reader to discover the poetics of the Master through ten poems by him and to make him reflect on the profound meaning he attributed to poetry for its impact on the soul. He also builds a bridge with the millenary oriental culture. With mystics, poets and thinkers who have constituted a certain horizon of reference for 'Abdu'l-Bahá, Whose literary production demonstrates such mastery as to induce Bausani himself - one of the most authoritative scholars of Iranian civilization - to define Him as "master undisputed of Persian prose". The volume lets the harmony of the Master's words breathe and welcomes the reader with the elegance of his handwriting. It opens, in fact, with four Tablets written by 'Abdu'l-Bahá before his disappearance. Kept in the archive of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Italy, they offer an insight into the bond that united the Master to our country and to the first believers, outlined with interesting biographical notes. |
