505 ## - FORMATTED CONTENTS NOTE
505 ## - FORMATTED CONTENTS NOTE
Formatted contents note Among the communities that gather the believers of the Bahá'í Faith, the Indian one is today the largest in the world. From the earliest years of its development in India it was a small but influential community in continuous and constant growth.Although the two million and two hundred thousand Bahá'í believers present on Indian soil today are a very small percentage of the total population, the extreme heterogeneity of the elements within the community (members from untouchable castes such as Brahmanic, from Hindu, Sikh, Muslim horizons , Zoroastrians and Christians, inhabitants of large urban centers as well as remote rural villages) means that the Indian Bahá'í community can be considered one of the successful experiments in history, considering that the juxtaposition of different human groups was achieved in a movement driven by a common and cooperating vision towards the same goal.
