500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note The "Bahai Handbook" offers an overall description of this monotheistic religion, which arose in Iran in the middle of the 19th century. In addition to the history of the origins of the religion and the teaching content, the resulting practices for shaping culture and society are also presented in detail. The book deals with questions of the current history of distribution, goes into the persecution of the religious community in the Islamic Republic of Iran, discusses the most important Baha'i sites in Israel, which were included in the list of World Cultural Heritage monuments in July 2008, and addresses the relationship between the Baha'i and other religions. A separate section is dedicated to the development of the Baha'i communities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
