Summary, etc. | This paper is an investigation into what the Baha’i Faith has to say about the process of globalization. It is meant to serve as contribution to a conversation between religion and economics. I should probably start out by providing some background on the Faith. It was founded in Iran in the mid-1800s by a Persian nobleman with the title Baha’u’llah, who lived from 1817 to 1892. He was succeeded by His son Abdu'l-Baha, and when Abdu'l-Baha died in 1921, He appointed His grandson, Shoghi Effendi, to be the Guardian of the Faith. During his lifetime, Shoghi Effendi laid the groundwork for the establishment of the Universal House of Justice in Haifa, Israel, which guides the Faith today. |
