Bahâіlіk ve el-Kitabu’l-Akdes [Bahaism and Kitab-ı Aqdas]

Bahâіlіk ve el-Kitabu’l-Akdes [Bahaism and Kitab-ı Aqdas]

Bahai faith was emerged at the end of the 19th century and today according to their statements and claims, it is a religion that has more than five millions members in the world. Despite Bahais‟ claim that they are members of a different religion, I believe that Bahais should be considered in a sectarian format according to their historical development and the thoughts and principles that the religion depends on. Because, especially their holy book al- Kitabu‟l-Aqdas not only reflects the cultural and religious manifestations of the geography that it was born into, but also it constructs its own thought and belief system on Islamic fundamental concepts. For this reason, I thought even in the 1970s onwards that it was very appropriate to translate this new sect‟s holy book into Turkish. After leaving administrative Works and posts, I again put this intention into my agenda and in 2008, with Ramazan ġimĢek and I decided to translate and publish it. However, we learnt that in 1992 this book was translated from its original language which is Arabic into English and then in 2003 it was translated from English to Turkish by Bahais themselves but it wasn‟t published and put into market. This time we wanted to present our translation to the appreciation of our colleagues.
